I am proud to announce that on April 16th, I will be walking in the 122nd Boston Marathon. As many of you may or may not know, this year marks 10 years since my first accident. Having had 3 separate paralyzing accidents between 2008 and 2010, I was told multiple times that embarking on a challenge such as the Boston Marathon was simply not in my cards. However, with the help of an amazing team I was able to defy the odds and regain control of my body. In walking the Boston Marathon, I will be the first person who has had multiple paralyzing accidents to do Boston without a wheelchair.
I attribute a lot of my success to the cutting edge physical therapy programs that I attended. In New England, there is no better program that is more aggressive, cutting edge and physically demanding than Journey Forward in Canton, MA. Journey forward is an evidence based physical rehabilitation facility that is leading the efforts of helping the paralysis community walk once again. This is exactly why I am committed to walking the 2018 Boston Marathon on behalf of Journey Forward.
I am proof that with proper support systems and physical therapy programs, the impossible can become possible. Journey Forward provides its clients with the best possible chance of beating paralysis and saving their lives. No person should ever have to live a life with paralysis. The mental and physical toll that paralysis takes on one’s body is something that I do not wish upon the worst of people. With your help, we can continue to make history and save lives. 100% of the money raised during this campaign will be donated directly to Journey Forward to better enhance their program.
Participating in the 2018 Boston Marathon on behalf of Journey Forward is an incredible privilege and honor for me. My goal is to provide others with the same opportunity as I had to recover and live wheelchair free life. If you are able, ANY size contribution is sincerely appreciated and truly makes a difference for someone with a spinal cord injury. You can do so by clicking the link below.
Thank you SO much for your continued support!
