On June 7, 2016, Matt Wetherbee’s life changed forever. While playing basketball with friends, Matt suffered a significant spinal cord injury and was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was diagnosed with being paralyzed from the chest down without the use of his arms and legs.
Soon after being contacted about Matt’s accident, our team rushed to MGH where we met with his family to begin the process of helping them have access to the very best care during this difficult time.
After multiple surgeries and significant time at MGH, Matt was transported to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital to begin his physical rehabilitation.
During his time at Spaulding Rehabilitation, our team was in awe of his hard work, determination and dedication to beating this terrible injury.
Because of this, we are pleased to announce that Matt has received a $10,000 home modification grant from The Thomas E. Smith Foundation! Way to go Matt!
